A Brief History..... Throughout Italy's history, there has been a heavy influence by different rulers, countries, and cultures. Dating back to 800 B.C. there has been numerous tribes that have invaded Italy. Each time a new cultural group invaded Italy their presence has had a lasting effect on Italian society. The customs and traditions of these tribes and rulers have contributed to what is now modern day Italy. Events in Italian history have also shaped not only Italian society but also the economy. For example, the second war really effected Italy's economy. Italy lost a significant amount of money for several reasons; failed attempts to invade countries, giving away war supplies for little to no cost, and repairing damages. All of these events contribute to the well being of the country. These crucial events have had lasting effects on society, Italian culture, and the economy.
